Copywriting Coaching Now Available

If your value proposition is as compelling as this ↑ then you don’t need copywriting coaching. But for the rest of us…

I joke with my clients that I have a “secret menu” — like In-n-Out Burger. If ya know, ya know. Marketingwise, sometimes having a “secret menu” adds mystique… but usually, it’s just a bad idea. When you have a new offer, shout it from the rooftops! Like “Hello world! I offer copywriting coaching! Want some?”

Of course, it’s never that simple. Because what kind of copywriting coaching are we talking about?

Well, copywriting coaching for coaches, for one.

Ethical copywriting, for another.

It’s very niche.

But if you’re a life coach, spiritual coach, health and wellness coach, anti-diet-culture coach, or any lovely shade of witch, AND you’d like to write for your business, AND you want to learn copywriting from an ethical, non-manipulative perspective…

That’s exactly the kind of coaching I do.

I also mentor copywriters who are interested in learning more ethical approaches to marketing.

Who am I to offer copywriting coaching?

Copywriter for coaches Lauren Van Mullem sits on a painted bench in front of a wall. She's wearing bright orange pants and a white shirt and is smiling at the camera.

Great question - never trust anyone on the internet just because they tell you to! I’ve been writing content (aka. blog posts and newsletters) and copy (aka. words on websites and sales emails) since 2009. I worked with anyone who’d pay me for a long time, gathering a wildly wide range of experiences across industries before settling first in SaaS (software as a service / tech), and finally (when I couldn’t take the jargon anymore) I fell in love with copywriting for coaches.

Coaches are wonderful people who genuinely want to help other people. It’s the best industry ever. It’s also not without its problems like: manipulative marketing, overpromising and underdelivering, playing on fear, developing offers designed to make money rather than produce results. And don’t even get me started on how white it all is (hi, it’s me, I’m part of the problem).

But the coaches I work with don’t want to contribute to the problems. They want to find better, more ethical ways to market their work and do right by their clients. And… there aren’t a lot of copywriters (or marketers) who support that kind of exploration (I actually keep a list of ethical marketers, designers and business coaches here - check it out!).

This is why I’m passionate about doing this work, and teaching it. Because together, we can be the change we want to see in the world — and maybe even get the world to change.

Ways we can work together if you want to learn to DIY your coaching business copy really, really well!

I’m committed to making it affordable to learn how to write your own ethical copy, because effective copy shouldn’t just be accessible to those who can pay thousands of dollars. So I offer…

  • Workbooks to help you write your own Home, About, Services and Sales pages — ethically and (relatively) easily. Okay, one client said writing his own website was like “giving birth, like Octomom.” But his website turned out great!

  • Workshops, live and recorded (get on my newsletter list below to hear when I offer the next Live workshop!)

  • Copywriting coaching by the hour, so you can get 1:1 help on literally anything you’re working on for your business. I’ve done it all (except for memoir, fiction, novels, anything literary - those are far outside of my areas of expertise).
