Lauren’s Secret Pesto Recipe
(just for you, fresh from my garden)
In a food processor, blend:
2 Cups of fresh basil leaves
1/4th cup extra virgin olive oil
½ cup grated parmesan
3 garlic cloves (microwaved in a damp paper towel for 1 minute - takes the edge off)
Add
Salt and pepper to taste
Two handfuls of pine nuts (I love pine nuts)
Toss with your favorite pasta or zucchini noodles, and before you serve...
Garnish with:
Nasturtium flowers and finely shredded (chiffonade) nasturtium leaves - adds a delicious peppery flavor that’s not overpowering, and it’s so pretty
Cherry tomatoes (optional, but the sweetness really goes well)
